Step Forward in Firefighting!

This August UVR LLC specialists tested a new payload for the unmanned aerial vehicle “SAKAVIK” – a fire extinguishing system.

This system is designed to extinguish fires in open areas. It is a device that holds 4 capsules with a flame-extinguishing composition, each with a volume of 25 liters, on the external suspension of the UAV. The capsules can be dropped on operator’s command when the UAV hovers at an altitude of 50 m above the fire source and are activated at a preset altitude of 0 to 5 m above the surface, releasing a multicomponent liquid that prevents the spread of flame. Each capsule is capable of extinguishing a flame on an area of up to 9 sq.m.

This fire extinguishing system has a potential for use in extinguishing wild fires in forests, fields and industrial facilities.

Visit of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) Delegation

On July 29, 2025 UVR LLC received a delegation of government and business circles of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) headed by the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) to the President of the Russian Federation A.S. Fedotov. The visit was organized with the assistance of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Belarus.

The delegation included representatives of Yakut airlines and government agencies responsible for the development of transport infrastructure. Considering the fact that Yakutia is a vast territory with a low population density and a large number of hard-to-reach settlements, aviation plays a very important role in ensuring their vital functions. The republic began implementing a program for the use of unmanned aerial vehicles of various payload capacity for cargo deliveries. The implementation of this program brought the delegation to UVR LLC.

Visit of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) Delegation

At “Kukhtichi” airfield, the Yakut delegation was shown flights of three unmanned aerial vehicles manufactured by UVR LLC: DroMi, Sakavik and Electron 7.

The UAV DroMi demonstrated a flight in automatic mode with a cargo placed in the cabin and another one on an external sling, with a total weight of 850 kg. The capabilities of DroMi aroused increased interest among the delegation members, and first of all, its leader A.S. Fedotov. He noted that the use of such a vehicle in Yakutia will help to solve a wide range of tasks for the delivery of goods to remote settlements.

The UAV Sakavik demonstrated a flight with a targeted release of a fire extinguishing capsule. It was noted that this use case of the UAV is also in demand in Yakutia, where forest fires regularly break out in remote areas of the taiga. There is also a market niche for the UAV Electron 7 in the republic – delivery of mail and small parcels.

Visit of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) Delegation

During the visit and demonstration flights, an exchange of opinions took place on the prospects for using the demonstrated UAV models in Yakutia. The delegation leaders and UVR LLC administration agreed to initiate a project for the joint conversion of Mi-2 and Mi-8 cargo helicopters into UAVs in Yakutia for their subsequent operation in the republic.

Testing of the New Safe Flight Termination System for the UAV “Electron 7”

Specialists of UVR LLC have successfully tested a new model of the safe flight termination system for the UAV “Electron 7”. Unlike the previous system, which consisted of a parachute and a gas generator located in the cavity of the tail boom, the new one is an autonomous unit that can be attached to different surfaces of the UAV.

During the test flight, which took place at Kukhtichi airfield, an emergency situation was simulated in which the safe flight termination system was triggered. The UAV descended with a parachute on a field adjacent to the airfield. Damage received by the UAV as a result of the emergency landing was insignificant.

The new system has several features ensuring its higher efficiency in comparison with the previous model:

– The system is fixed on the UAV’s body and considers the centering characteristics of the aerial vehicle.

– The UAV lands at 3 points of the chassis in its normal mode and position.

– A special mechanism (swivel), that prevents the lines from twisting and ensures the rotation of the UAV relative to the parachute, is installed between the connecting link made of Kevlar cord and the parachute lines.

Testing of the New Safe Flight Termination System for the UAV "Electron 7"

Testing of the system will continue until a stable result is obtained, after which the system will be included into the standard product package.
